Time's up on the 21/22 Ski Season
Thank You Winter 21/22 and Good Night!
And that's it. Winter ski season 2021/22 is finally over.
And what a season it's been! It was a rocky start to the winter. The border between the UK and France closed just before the December Christmas holidays until February.
But the resorts stayed busy for Christmas! So instead of the British skiers, we saw our European cousins arrive for the festive break, which was fantastic news for all the local businesses.
Just before the February break, we did see those borders open back up for the UK skiers, and it was great to see those smiling faces back here for the children's holidays.
February was, of course, super busy - and it was fantastic! Such a fun month to share our mountains again with so many smiley faces and excited skiers.
Then when we expected March to quieten down, which in some ways, it didn't! Accommodations, bars, and restaurants remained busy, but the slopes felt much quieter and calmer. It seemed like people had embraced the spring pace of life!
Finally, April..! What a month! We've had some big dumps of snow spread out over the month, making for some fantastic off-piste days and excellent piste conditions until the lift closed.
All in all, it's been a fantastic ski season, and if you've been able to visit us, I hope you've enjoyed your time on the slopes!
This is Jen signing out for Winter 21/22! I'll be around on the mountain bike trails this summer and see you back on the snow in December!
