Les Deux Alpes is the largest ski resort in the Dauphine region, and in winter it makes up part of the Grande Galaxie ski area along with Alpe d’Huez, La Grave, Puy St Vincent and Vaujany. It is an elongated valley with the neighbouring villages of Venosc and Mont de Lans sitting at the northern and southern tips. All the towns in the valley are connected via regular bus services.
Airport bus services to Les Deux Alpes
Direct bus services run from Geneva airport, Lyon airport and Grenoble airport to Les 2 Alpes.
- Lyon airport shuttles run daily (except Wednesdays), at least once a day, with additional services operating on a Saturday. It drops you directly to the main bus station in Les 2 Alpes.
- Geneva airport and Grenoble airport arrivals can take a public bus service to Grenoble Gare Routière, the city's train and coach station. From here, you can take a connecting bus to Les Deux Alpes. These routes run summer and winter.
There are also buses connecting Geneva and Lyon airports with Grenoble.

Les 2 Alpes local buses
Free in-resort shuttle services operate throughout the winter and summer seasons on three different circuits. Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes on the red and green lines from around 07:45 to 21:00 daily. Shuttles between Les Deux Alpes, Bons and Mont de Lans run three times per day; the first one at 08:30 and the last at 18:00. Remember to flag the bus so the driver knows to stop.
Full timetables are posted on each bus stop, take a look at the interactive town map for their location. Bikes can be taken aboard these buses for no extra charge, however, this is subject to availability as the number of bikes they can carry is limited. Also at some bus stops you can flash the code with your smartphone for live updates of when you can expect the next bus.

Les Deux Alpes is connected to its neighbouring ski resorts and towns via year-round, bus services. For Alpe d'Huez, take line T73 to Bourg d'Oisans and then line T76. There is also a daily bus from Grenoble to Bourg d'Oisans (line T75 - see below section), from where you can pick up either of the connecting buses to Les Deux Alpes or Alpe d'Huez. There's no need to book these buses in advance, just pay the driver on arrival.

During the winter season, there is a direct shuttle bus to Alpe d'Huez from Les Deux Alpes on Wednesdays (during the winter season) and Thursdays (during holiday periods). It leaves at 08:45 and returns at around 17:30. The service costs about €15 return. Tickets can be booked online or purchased from the Agence VFD at 112 Avenue Muzelle or the Palais des Sports in Alpe d'Huez (70 Avenue des Brandes - the desk is in the foyer immediately on the left-hand side as you walk in).
Return helicopter flights from Les Deux Alpes to Alpe d'Huez are also on offer at around €70 per person. These take place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the winter season and are operated by SAF Helico.

Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes bus services
Buses bring you to Les Deux Alpes from Grenoble Gare Routière (train or coach station). The most direct service is run by Transaltitude and it's strongly advised that you book this service online in advance, as it can get very busy during the winter. Online pricing and bookings are typically available from mid-November. You should arrive at the bus at least 15 minutes before boarding with your tickets (printed on paper or in electronic format on your smartphone). Other options are the standard year-round lines running from Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes and Bourg d'Oisans.
