Group Ski Lessons

British-run Ski School offering group Ski & Snowboard Lessons

featured in Ski lessons Updated

The European Ski & Snowboard School is a well-established independent ski school in the heart of Les Deux Alpes. Its name has become synonymous with a quality service that aims to meet and exceed your expectations.

The carefully selected team of international ski instructors from Britain, Italy, France and Austria will provide a fun and effective way to improve your mountain skills, whether you’re a skier or a snowboarder. All of the non-British instructors speak great English and the team as a whole is comprised of experts who are passionate about the mountain.

Group Ski & Snowboard Lessons
The ski school specialises in taking out only small groups (up to 9 skiers or up to 6 snowboarders), or up to 4 in the VIP Gold class, so you will get all the attention you need to achieve your personal goals in complete safety. There is a video analysis session mid-week – a really useful tool for pushing your skiing to the next level or breaking a bad habit. At the end of week presentation on Friday you will be given a logbook to record your progress and guide your future development. All children get a free medal with their logbook.

Lessons are booked at the most convenient meeting point to get the most out of the skiing time. The lesson schedule is designed to avoid rush hours and bottlenecks, and start times are adjusted during peak weeks to minimise queuing.

Worth knowing

The team also provides a full range of courses for those who wish to become instructors or simply challenge their own development. The trainers and coaches are of the highest standard, each holding the highest possible ski instructor qualification in their own country. They work with instructors from all over Europe from BASI Level 1 through to the world's highest ski qualification, BASI 4 ISTD. Over the years, the European Ski School has helped many aspiring ski and snowboard instructors to fulfil their dreams – several of whom are now teaching in the school.

Where to meet

Several meeting points are available for lessons at different levels:

  • In the village there are meeting points at the Viking beginner area and next to the Snow Garden, both with quick access to the main ski lifts.
  • On the mountain the meeting point is by the blue ski school hut on Les Cretes (handy for the Patache restaurant and with easy access to all grades of piste).

Visitor comments

  • "Will highly recommend them and hopefully they are in every resort as they are really cool and friendly. Carlos was pushy in a good way that he made me do turns until I get it right. My children enjoyed their skiing lessons as well. There was a big handing of medals and books telling you what you have achieved and what to work on for the next skiing holiday." - Trip Advisor
  • "This was the best ski school yet! as I was old enough to go into the adults group and it was a thrill, I had the best group with the best people and the best teacher! Luca was the best teacher I had, he gave really good tips on my short turns and I also learned carving that I am not really used to. He always smiled and spoke really good English and I asked him about how to become a ski instructor. On the last day we had Stefano(who spelt my name wrong, but it's ok)who was really awesome as well and really took detail in my skiing. My group Luca and Stefano were the best people ever!(PS: Thanks Luca for buying me a hot chocolate, I had a great time!)" - Trip Advisor
  • "Great time at Les Deux Alpes! My daughters had a fab time and thoroughly enjoyed their skiing lessons! A special thank you to Simon, Giorgia, Luca, Niccolò and Stefano...but everyone at the European Ski School was great...a BIG THANK YOU!" - Trip Advisor
  • "Excellent ski school and instructor, This is the second time I have booked with ESS and have not been disappointed. Alessandro led the group expertly and made sure to provide regular individual feedback especially in the video feedback session. He made the effort to get to know everyone in the group and achieved a good balance between technique and keeping us skiing at pace. The instructors facilitated movement between groups where necessary to ensure we were all at a similar level from the outset. Our two young children thoroughly enjoyed their first week and were each presented with a medal at the end. Great week and learnt much." - Trip Advisor

Child policy

The school teaches children from four years upwards in group and private lessons. Children under six are taught in the snow garden – a safe enclosed area with its own little ski lift – until they are ready to venture onto the main nursery slopes.

Extra staff are on hand at the end of lessons to look after children if parents are late for any reason and there is an identity card system in place. All instructors have produced a criminal records background check from their country of residence or origin.
